LOMBOK – Logistics transport plane for 2023 World Superbike (WSBK) motor racing event arrived at Lombok Airport, Monday (27/2/2023) at 23.35 WITA. Aircraft departing from Avalon, Australia, was a Qantas Airways Boeing 747-400F aircraft carrying 97.8 tons of cargo. after dropping off the WSBK logistics in Lombok, the plane with registration number QF7581 took off for Bangkok.
“Alhamdulillah, process of ‘unloading’ cargo of the first WSBK 2023 logistics carrier went well and smoothly. from airport, this logistics is then brought by 13 trucks to the Mandalika Circuit,” explained General Manager of Lombok Airport, Rahmat Adil Indrawan in his official release received by Koranlombok.id
It is planned that there will be another WSBK 2023 logistics transport aircraft, namely Cargo Xpress with Boeing 737-800F type. The aircraft with flight number KXP267 will depart from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and is scheduled to land at Lombok Airport on Wednesday (1/3/2023) at 06.30 WITA.
“To support the success of 2023 WSBK international event in Mandalika, we are very ready. Lombok Airport infrastructure, facilities and Human Resources are ready to serve the arrival and return of logistics, racers, racing crews and spectators at this event,” he said
Where, since 2021 Lombok Airport has successfully completed an airport development project in its efforts to support the existence of the Mandalika National Super Priority Destination as well as international events held in Lombok and West Nusa Tenggara. Lombok Airport apron was expanded from 108,100 square meters to 136,300 square meters and is able to accommodate a configuration of 10 narrow body aircraft and 6 wide body aircraft or 18 narrow body aircraft and 2 wide body aircraft.
Lombok Airport’s runway which previously had a length of 2,750 meters has also been extended to 3,300 meters and its carrying capacity has been increased so that it is able to serve the operations of aircraft of Boeing 777 class.
Meanwhile, in terms of cargo facilities, development has been carried out in form of constructing a 1,500 meter access road and constructing a 6,000 square meter cargo yard which can accommodate as many as 40 cargo trucks to support logistics flows.
In addition, the passenger terminal was also expanded to 43,501 square meters and was able to serve 7 million passengers per year from the previous 3.5 million passengers of year.(s/nis)
